The Runnin’ Rebels will host a Sneak Peek preseason event at the Thomas & Mack Center in October.

The event will be on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.

The Sneak Peek is free and open to the public. It will serve as a formal introduction to the Runnin’ Rebels team that has eight new players.

The event is scheduled to last for about an hour and will showcase the team running through various drills and ending with a 5-on-5 scrimmage.

At the conclusion of the event, the Runnin’ Rebels will be available to sign autographs and take photos with fans for a meet and greet.

“We love welcoming our fans to campus,” head coach Kevin Kruger said in a release. “We will have a couple of weeks of official practices under our belts before the Runnin’ Rebel Sneak Peek and are excited to have Runnin’ Rebel fans back in the Thomas & Mack Center. It should be a great night”

Doors will be open at 5 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt. Free food will be provided for UNLV students along with a chance to win two Joyner Lucas concert tickets.

Last season, the Runnin Rebels finished 18-14, with a 10-8 Mountain West record that had them finish in fifth place. UNLV’s season ended with a 59-56 loss to Wyoming in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West tournament.

Last month, the Runnin’ Rebels played three exhibition games against Canadian schools, going 2-1 on the trip.

The Runnin’ Rebels will start their second season under Kruger on Nov. 7 against Southern University at the Thomas & Mack Center. That will start a stretch of four-straight home games to begin the season. UNLV will also play Incarnate Word (Nov. 12), Dayton (Nov. 15) and High Point (Nov. 18) on the homestand.
