Junior golfer Caden Fioroni recorded a third place finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational last week in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Fioroni shot a final round score of 2-under par to finish the tournament with an overall score of 7-under par. Junior golfer Yuki Moriyama recorded a top-25 finish, placing tied for 22nd with a total score of 6-over par.
The Rebels as a team finished in ninth place and tied with California with a score of 39-over par. Texas A&M won the team tournament at 11-under par and it also won the individual tournament with Daniel Rodrigues, winning by two strokes with a score of 11-over par.
A total of 11 schools and 57 individual participants were at the tournament. This was Fioroni’s second-straight top-three finish after recording a second place finish at William H. Tucker Intercollegiate last month.
UNLV’s next tournament is at the Wolf Pack Classic. The two-day event begins Oct. 10 and it is hosted by UNR at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Norco, California.
Women’s Golf at Blessings Collegiate Invitational
Freshman golfer Thienna Huynh highlighted UNLV’s performance at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational last week in Fayetteville, Arkansas with an 18th place finish.
Huynh finished with a three-day score of 11-over par. She recorded a final round score of 4-over par. The Rebels finished in eight place at 54-over par.
Senior Nicole Lorup and sophomore McKenzi Hall finished tied for 31st at 14-over par.
Mississippi State’s Julia Lopez Ramierez won the individual tournament by six strokes with a score of 8-under par. Mississippi State also won the team tournament at 15-over par.
The Rebels will take a two week break before they return to action for the Jim West Invitational in San Marcos, Texas beginning Oct. 23.
