Crime Reports at UNLV, Oct. 1-7

UNLV is located in one of the areas with the highest crime in the Las Vegas Valley, the South Central Area, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. 

Here are the crimes that took place last week: 

Saturday, Oct. 1 – 3:55 a.m. : At the Grove Circle, there was a burglary that didn’t involve students or staff. 

Sunday, Oct. 2 –  8:15 a.m. : Someone that was not a student or staff member was found trespassing the Catholic Newman Center.

3:24 p.m. : A student from UNLV was given a trespass warning at the Student Union.

7:17 p.m. : On campus, someone that wasn’t affiliated with UNLV was given a trespass warning. 

10:11 p.m. : Someone that wasn’t a student or staff was arrested on Maryland Parkway by UPD for having a warrant. 

Monday, Oct. 3 – 7:37 a.m. : A UNLV staff member was involved in a trespassing warning at the Lied Library. 

10:38 a.m. : At the Police Headquarters Building located at UNLV’s main campus, there were threats and harassment involving a student. 

11:44 a.m : A UNLV staff member was involved in a trespassing warning at the Lied Library. 

12:37 p.m. : A hit-and-run involving a student’s car was resolved at the Cottage Grove parking garage. 

3:52 p.m. : Someone was issued a trespass warning involving a student at the Degree Apartment Complex. 

11:15 p.m. : At the Rebel Plaza, someone with no association with UNLV was found tagging the building. 

Tuesday, Oct. 4  – 1:45 p.m. : Off campus at the Desert Research Institute, someone with no association to UNLV was found to have drugs on them.

3:15 p.m. : At the Student Union, someone that was not a student or staff member was in possession of drugs. 

3:42 p.m. : An individual that was not a student or staff member stole something that had a value of less than $650, in the Student Union. 

Wednesday, Oct. 5 – 6:27 p.m. : There was a hit-and-run in the Cottage Grove parking garage involving a student’s car. 

7:00 p.m. : At the Tropicana parking garage, there was a hit-and-run involving a student’s car. 

Thursday, Oct. 6 – 12:07 a.m. : Someone who was not associated with UNLV engaged in lewdness, injured a vehicle and was given a trespassing warning at UNLV’s main campus. 

Friday, Oct. 7 – 1:29 a.m. : On UNLV’s inner campus, someone who was not associated with UNLV was driving under the influence. 
4:43 a.m. : There was a hit-and-run involving a student’s vehicle at the Cottage Grove parking garage.
