I was hiding alone in the student union bathroom. I thought about leaving and saw the back door unscathed, but I hesitated and stayed in the stall, standing on top of the toilet seat. A couple minutes later, I heard gunshots nearby, and a few minutes after, the police team took me out of the bathroom. As I walked out, that same door had multiple gunshots shatter it. I keep thinking about how that could have been me if I did not wait. I hope everyone can heal from this one day. Nothing about this was okay and will never be.
