The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine’s group practice, formerly recognized as UNLV Medicine, takes on a new name since the school’s debut in 2017. The organization will now be referred to as UNLV Health.
UNLV Health’s name change allows the group practice to be recognized beyond diagnoses and treatments. The medical school also provides programs for wellness and prevention as well as research and education opportunities. The name UNLV Health most accurately reflects the extent of their work.
Additionally, the organization intends to reframe health to include mental and social facets in addition to physical ailments. Equipped with a team of over 350 medical professionals, their goal is to enhance the overall level of healthcare in the Southern Nevada region.
