After a year fraught with trauma in both visible and invisible forms, UNLV wants to remind students of ways to help process and cope. Beyond COVID-19, social and economic insecurity is rampant, and it impacts students, faculty and staff throughout campus.

Trauma-informed education is crucial right now. A few practices for trauma-informed education include taking care of yourself, establishing personal connections and seeking out resources for help. UNLV encourages students to prioritize caring for themselves physically, emotionally and mentally. Remember that being reserved or standoffish may be a sign of someone in need of help. Finally, there are multiple mental health resources and professionals on-campus that can help diagnose and treat mental illnesses, so do not go it alone during these complex times.
