Get ready for the sequel of “Fourth Wing,” the “Iron Flame” to take over “BookTok” once again

Book lovers that had TikTok have probably heard of the “Fourth Wing.” The “Fourth Wing” by best-selling author Rebecca Yarros took over “BookTok” (the book lover side of TikTok) and the publishing industry quickly after its release and will continue to take over again with its sequel “Iron Flame” on Nov. 7. 

Rebecca Yarros is the #1 New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of over 15 novels including her other series which include “Legacy,” “Renegades” and “In Luv Duet.”

The “Fourth Wing” and the rest of the Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarras can be described as a heart-pounding adult fantasy romance. Per synopsis from London-based publisher Waterstones, “A thrilling fantasy epic … ‘Fourth Wing’ centers on the bookish Violet’s attempts to become a dragon rider amidst the intrigue and deadly danger of the kingdom of Navarre.”

Published on April 5, 2023, “Fourth Wing” has already sold over 400,000 copies as of Aug. 18 according to Publishers Weekly. Gaining immense popularity on TikTok helped the book to skyrocket onto the New York Times bestseller list where it stayed there for 25 weeks and 13 of those at No.1 according to Variety.

As if the book’s quick rise to popularity wasn’t already impressive, on Oct. 30 the best-selling author announced on Instagram that the “Fourth Wing” live adaption TV series will be under development by Amazon MGM Studios, with Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society producing. 

With the announcement of the television show and the sequel, “Iron Flame,” coming out soon, fans are more excited than ever. According to The Bookseller, on the first day for pre orders, “Iron Flame” became the fastest book to sell pre orders in the publisher, Waterstones’ history. Even the $19 to $27 special editions sold out in seven hours, in a variety of languages and nation-specific formats. So are you one of the many fans of the “BookTok” sensation?
